I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.

Thomas A. Edison

My understanding

Failure is not the opposite of success. It is part of the process.

Every mistake, every wrong turn, and every failed attempt is not a dead end. It is a step forward, another lesson learned, another way not to give up.

Edison’s approach to invention was rooted in persistence. He did not see setbacks as failures but as experiments that brought him closer to the right solution. If he had given up after the first, the tenth, or even the thousandth attempt, the light bulb might never have been perfected. His story is a reminder that success is built on resilience, adaptability, and the willingness to keep going even when progress feels slow.

This applies to everything in life. Whether I am learning a new skill, building a business, or chasing a dream, setbacks will happen. But as long as I keep moving forward, each attempt is not a failure. It is proof that I am still in the game :)

Reminds me

  1. “Top piece of advice in nearly every situation: Don’t overthink it.” from Jason Fried. This quote reminds me to keep things simple and focus on what matters.

  2. “Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection” from Mark Twain. It’s better to keep improving little by little than to stay stuck chasing something flawless.

  3. “The cold water doesn’t get warmer if you jump late.” from an unknown author. Putting something off doesn’t make it any easier. The hard things in life don’t change just because we delay them.

  4. "If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello." from Paulo Coelho.

  5. “If you’re afraid you’ll fail, you won’t get very far.” from Steve Jobs. The only real failure is never trying at all.
